Appeal after man, 23, dies in single vehicle crash

A man has died after a single vehicle collision in North Devon, police said.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the driver of the car, a 23-year-old local man, was confirmed deceased after the crash, which involved a black Audi A3 on an unclassified road between South Molton and North Molton at around 19:00 BST on Saturday.

It said the incident was attended by South West Ambulance Service, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service and Devon and Cornwall Police.

The force added that it was investigating the crash and appealed to anyone who witnessed the collision or had dashcam footage to come forward.

Devon and Cornwall Police said a second local man in his 20s, who was a passenger in the car, was injured and taken to hospital for treatment.

It added that the road between South Molton and North Molton was closed while officers examined the scene.
