Two men, both in their 20s, are believed to have been injured in a stabbing in a village in Leicestershire.

Police said they were called to reports of a double stabbing in Station Road, Quorn, just after 18:15 BST along with the East Midlands Ambulance Service and the Air Ambulance.

Officers said when they arrived the people believed to be responsible had left, as had one of the reportedly injured men – who is believed to have suffered a minor cut to his hand.

A second man was assessed at the scene and has been taken to hospital with an injury to his hand and stomach.

A section of the road outside a row of shops was cordoned off and an investigation into the incident is in the early stages, police said.
