Pedestrian dies weeks after being hit by car

A pedestrian who was seriously injured when they were hit by a car has died.

A man and a woman were struck by a red Peugeot 3008 shortly after 15:30 BST on 18 August in Loughborough Road, Quorn.

Leicestershire Police said both were taken to hospital for treatment, but the man died from his injuries on Thursday. The woman remains in hospital.

A 67-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and was released under investigation.

Officers from the serious collision investigation unit have renewed their appeal for witnesses to come forward.

"We would like to speak to any motorists who were travelling through the area and may have witnessed the collision or seen the vehicle beforehand," a force spokesperson said.

"Anyone who may also have dashcam footage which captured anything relating to the collision is also asked to make contact."
