Man arrested after pedestrians struck by car
GoogleA driver has been arrested after a man and a woman were seriously injured when they were hit by a car in Leicestershire.
The two pedestrians were struck by a red Peugeot 3008 in Loughborough Road, near to the junction with Granite Way, in Quorn at about 15:30 BST on Tuesday.
Leicestershire Police said the driver of the Peugeot was not injured.
A 67-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and released under investigation.
The road was closed while emergency services responded but has since reopened. The force's serious collision investigation unit is appealing for witnesses.
