Good Times brought thousands of people to Chipping Sodbury near Bristol

It was a weekend of dancing, drinking and delighting in the daftness of old traditions across the West as people made the most of the Bank Holiday.

The record-breaking heat did not deter spectators from time-honoured events such as cheese rolling and rubber duck racing, while revellers descended on the many festivals.

Here are some of the highlights.

Summer loving: An estimated 50,000 people attended Love Saves the Day in Bristol. Headliners included rapper Eve, Sammy Virji and Rizzle Kicks.

Green goddesses: These three took inspiration from the west's green countryside for their outfits for Shindig Festival in Wiltshire. The lineup included a range of pop, folk and punk acts and DJ sets.

Bird's eye view: This drone shot shows the impressive crowd at Good Times Live in Chipping Sodbury, where headliners included Emeli Sande, Jessie J and Tom Odell. More than 32,000 ticket holders headed to the site over the weekend - with 8,000 turning out to see ska icons Madness.

The big cheese: The world famous Cooper's Hill Cheese Rolling went ahead once again on Bank Holiday Monday. German Youtuber Tom Kopke, seen here on the left at the front, won the the first downhill men's race for the second time in a row.
