Thousands of fans made their way to Ashton Court on the edge of Bristol for Love Saves The Day

It doesn't always happen, but the sun has arrived just in time for this bank holiday weekend and the many events taking place in the West.

Festivals such as Shindig and Love Saves The Day have drawn large crowds. But plenty of things have been going on away from the music and lights.

This week volunteers have been busy knitting pairs of hearts to offer comfort for hospital patients at the end of life.

A hospice benefited from a £10,000 gift after a fundraiser's epic walk.

And 50,000 children have now been trained to ride a bike safely in Wiltshire.

Here is a round-up of pictures from across the region.
