Elizabeth Clark, 91, was found seriously injured in Rotherham on 11 September

A second man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a 91-year-old woman whose bank card was stolen.

Elizabeth "Betty" Clark died in hospital on 12 November, two months after she was found with serious injuries in her home on Peveril Close in Kiveton Park, Rotherham.

A 36-year-old man has been arrested and bailed pending further enquiries.

Det Insp Adam Watkinson said it was a "significant development" in the investigation.

"It has been nearly six months since the death of Betty and we have been working extensively to find answers for her loved ones.

"Betty was extremely loved by her family, friends, and was well known in the local community. She is missed by many," he said.

A 47-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of murder in December, remains on bail.

On 11 September, Clark was found and admitted to hospital with serious injuries, from which she later died.

In March police said they believed a bank card had been stolen from Clark, which was then used for "multiple transactions" up until 16 September.

Police urged anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the Kiveton Park area between 10 and 16 September 2025 to get in touch.
