Labour 'proud of achievements' ahead of elections
North East Lincolnshire Labour GroupLabour candidates in North East Lincolnshire say people need a party "that listens, that acts and that delivers".
Voters will be heading to polling stations on 7 May to elect 15 councillors, one in each of the authority's wards.
Labour is currently the main opposition group on the council with 15 councillors.
The party's leader, councillor Emma Clough, said she was "immensely proud of our achievements, including working across party lines".
"I believe collaboration delivers the best outcomes and that is what we are here to do," she told the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
Clough said the party had tabled a number of amendments to this year's budget "shaped by listening to local people and acting on what we hear".
"How we work sets us apart. We are rooted in our communities, and real power comes from our residents and community groups.
"We see the greatest impact working as a team alongside our communities."
Clough said other priorities included tackling fly-tipping and littering, supporting families facing financial pressures and boosting local businesses, especially in the tourism industry.
She highlighted the number of Labour motions adopted by the council.
"Despite operating in opposition, we are proud each one has been agreed," she said.
"Delivering a dedicated veterans officer, recognition of the importance of becoming a National Association for Children of Alcoholics council, a review of less punitive measures to council tax collection, and the introduction of Article Four, ensuring homes in multiple occupation require a licence.
"These measures are varied, but form part of the fabric of our place and having a positive impact for years to come."
Clough added: "Our priorities also reflect the importance of our local heritage and identity.
"Our area has deep roots in industry, fishing, and community life, and these should be recognised and supported."
