Leeds dog attack leaves three children injured

Three children have been taken to hospital after being attacked by a dog.

Police were called to West Grange Road, in Belle Isle, Leeds, at about 08:00 GMT after receiving reports of a German Shepherd-type dog on the loose.

Two girls, aged 11 and 15, and a boy, 12, were injured by the animal. None of the injuries are life threatening, West Yorkshire Police said.

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous dog offences, a police spokesperson added.

Officers said the 11-year-old girl was bitten on her forearm, while the boy suffered puncture wounds to his leg and grazes on his hands from falling.

The teenager suffered an injury to her tooth after being pulled over by the dog.

Police said the dog had been "acting aggressively towards people" and it was later seized at a nearby address.

Officers investigating the incident have asked anyone with information to contact officers.
