Getty ImagesPolice are appealing for information after a girl suffered "ABH-level injuries" when she was bitten by a rottweiler in Surrey.
Surrey Police said the attack took place in an alleyway in Staines-Upon-Thames last month.
The victim was walking in the lane between Kingston Road and Hazel Grove at around 17:50 BST on 10 September when the animal "lunged" at her.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to contact the force with any information with might help the investigation.
The owner of the dog was described by police as "a white woman, about 40 years old, about 5 ft 3in tall with blonde hair", which was worn in a ponytail.
They added that the rottweiler, which is not one of the banned breeds featured on the UK's Dangerous Dogs Act, was "black and wearing a red collar".
