A 41-year-old man who died after being hit by a car on the A92, on the outskirts of Aberdeen, has been named by police.

Scott Mutch, from Ellon, was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by a blue Ford people carrier north of Murcar at about 03:10 on Thursday 23 April.

His family paid tribute to him as a much-loved son and brother.

Sgt Lesley Morrison, of the North East Road Policing Unit, appealed for information and said: "Our investigation is ongoing and I would like to thank everyone that has contacted us so far."
