A small cat rescue charity said although it was "full to capacity" with kittens, it could not give up on them and would continue to find them foster homes.

The week in sport

Peterborough Sports have released 18 players as their rebuild following relegation to the Southern Premier Central continues.

Stalwarts Peter Crook, Dan Jarvis and Mark Jones are among those leaving.

Sports have six players under contract for next season and have signed another five from new manager Graham Drury's former club, Stamford.

Meanwhile, Peterborough United's women's team have confirmed the departure of general manager Sam Winch - as part of what the club has described as an "internal restructure".

Winch had been in the role since March 2024, when he succeeded Bobby Copping.

And Peterborough Phantoms have re-signed two long-serving defensemen, as they continue to assemble their roster for next season.

Tom Norton and Callum Buglass have agreed new deals.

Buglass will be given a testimonial, with his new deal taking him to 10 seasons at the club.
