Car catches fire while being put on trailer

One person was injured after a car caught fire while being loaded on to a flatbed trailer in Leicester.

The fire service said it was called to reports of a Vauxhall Corsa on fire in Buckminster Road at 09:31 BST on Monday.

A member of the public suffered minor injuries and was advised to attend hospital after refusing treatment, a spokesperson for the service added.

Leicestershire Police said a road closure was in place while the fire was put out and the area cleared up.

The fire service said the trailer was not damaged in the fire.
