A motorcyclist has been transferred to the UK for treatment after a crash on the Isle of Man's Mountain Road.

The 43-year-old local resident crashed in the area of the Creg Ny Baa on the A18 at about 20:30 BST on Thursday. No details of his injures have been released.

The road was closed for about six hours following the crash, which police said involved no other vehicles.

The Isle of Man Constabulary has called for witnesses who have not already spoken to the force to come forward.
