Brwa Abdulla drove his car at a teenager 'at speed' Staffordshire Police said

A man has been jailed for 10 years for deliberately driving his car at a teenage boy.

Brwa Abdulla, 19, from Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent, previously admitted causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and was found guilty of wounding with intent after a trial at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.

His victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries after he was hit in August last year and Det Con Spencer Arnold described it as "a targeted attack".

Abdulla was sentenced on Tuesday and also received a driving ban of almost 12 years.

Staffordshire Police said he had been sitting in his BMW on College Road in Shelton on the evening of 4 August when he spotted his victim out walking.

The force said he drove the car at him at speed, hitting him at the junction with Beresford Road.

Afterwards, Abdulla drove away. But the police force said he went back to the scene later that day and was arrested after presenting himself to officers.
