A man has died days after suffering a head injury on Whinsmoor Drive in Carlisle, police said

Six people have been arrested after the suspected murder of a man in his 40s.

Cumbria Police said officers were called to reports of a man suffering a head injury on Whinsmoor Drive, in Carlisle, at about 11:14 BST on Saturday.

He was taken by air ambulance to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle but died on Tuesday.

Four people arrested on suspicion of murder are in custody, and two people arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent have been bailed.

The force appealed for information from the days leading up to the death, including any footage of Whinsmoor Drive or Central Avenue in Carlisle.
