Crews tackling 'significant' fire at four properties

More than 50 firefighters are tackling a fire in Winchester involving four commercial properties.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue said it was "responding to a significant fire", with crews working to bring the blaze in The Square under control and stop it spreading further.

The service said it had 10 fire engines at the scene after being called at about 06:00 BST and urged people to avoid the area and keep surrounding roads clear for emergency vehicles.

The Square near the cathedral area has largely been cordoned off.
