A 17-year-old boy arrested as part of a murder investigation after a man was stabbed in Leicester has been bailed.

Arad Niakan, 24, died after being attacked in De Montfort Place, off London Road, on 22 July.

Leicestershire Police said the boy was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder on Wednesday.

Four men have already been charged with murder, with a fifth man charged with assisting an offender.

The force said on Wednesday that two other 17-year-old boys were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder. They both remain in custody.

Two men, 52, and two women, 43, who were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender as part of the investigation, were released on bail, police said.

It added that a 33-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, had been released with no further action.
