Man found injured in street suffered fall

A man found seriously injured in a street in Leicester suffered a fall, Leicestershire Police have said.

Officers were called to Narborough Road at 02:06 BST on Tuesday by East Midlands Ambulance Service.

The force said the man, in his 60s, had been taken to hospital where he remained with serious injuries.

Police later said that, following an investigation to establish how the man came to be injured, the force did not believe there were suspicious circumstances.

The police added that the man's family have been informed and remain with him in hospital.

Area Insp Ryan Ludlam said: "We would like to thank local residents and businesses who have assisted us in our inquiries today.

"While we have determined that there is not believed to be any suspicious circumstances or third party involvement, our investigation does remain ongoing as we continue to establish the full circumstances of what has happened.

An area of Narborough Road was closed off while initial inquiries were carried out, said police, but it has since reopened.
