A six-year-old girl has been airlifted to hospital in London after suffering serious burns in a barbecue fire.

The child's father was also taken to King's College Hospital after the incident.

South East Coast Ambulance Service said it was called to Worth Road, Crawley, West Sussex, just after 19:00 BST on Sunday.

Sussex Police said: "Officers attended to support the ongoing emergency response, and an increased presence currently remains visible in the area."
