M5 closed due to ongoing police incident

A section of the M5 has been closed in both directions while police respond to an incident.

The motorway is shut near Avonmouth in Bristol between Junction 18 and 19.

Avon and Somerset Police has urged the public to avoid the area to allow trained officers to respond to the situation.

National Highways said there is currently 8km (5 miles) of congestion approaching the area, with delays building.
