Man sought over wrong-way crash on M1 northbound

Police have released an image of a man wanted on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and theft of a motor vehicle.

David Nutall, who is 38 and from Rotherham, is believed to have driven a blue Kia Proceed the wrong way on the northbound carriageway of the M1 near junction 41 shortly after 23:00 BST on 11 September.

The car crashed with a red Dacia Sandero, leaving a man in his 20s in hospital with serious and potentially life-changing injuries, West Yorkshire Police said.

An 18-year-old man, 15-year-old girl and a woman aged 30 were arrested at the scene and have since been bailed pending further inquiries, the force added.
