A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead in Portsmouth.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said officers were called to a property in Hartley Road at about 19:40 BST on Monday.

The force said it was treating the death of the woman - whose name and age has not yet been released - as suspicious.

It said the arrested man was 60 and from Portsmouth. He remains in police custody.
