Murder investigation after 'loved' man found dead
Avon And Somerset PoliceA murder investigation has been launched after a "much-loved" man was found dead on the roof garden of a block of flats.
The body of 54-year-old Anthony Clemmings, known as Tony, was discovered by a member of the public at the building on Redcliff Street, Bristol, shortly before 08:20 BST on Tuesday.
Avon and Somerset Police said his death was now being treated as a murder investigation, led by detectives from the force's Major Crime Investigation Team.
Clemmings' family said he was a "lovely man to all those that truly knew him".
"He was a much-loved son, brother and uncle and he will be greatly missed," they added.
"His death has come as a huge shock to us and we ask for privacy as we try to come to terms with what has happened."
Forensic and CCTV enquiries have been carried out, and police said their investigation was continuing, with extra patrols in the area.
