Police help influencer escape city centre crowds

A TikTok star says he was helped by police to evade large crowds by going through a pub's back entrance after a visit to a city caused commotion.

J2Hundred, who live streams on TikTok and Kick, said the turnout took him by surprise when visiting Norwich on Tuesday and he has subsequently cut short a tour of East Anglia.

Norfolk Police received several calls about large groups of young people gathering but found there was no criminality taking place.

Following the experience, the creator said "it got a bit hectic" and that he was considering getting more security when making similar live stream videos in the future.

Josh, who does not share his surname publicly, publishes content on social media platforms as J2Hundred.

He live streams while walking through public places and has been touring different parts of the UK.

He has 2.7m followers on TikTok and 260,000 subscribers on YouTube.

The 24-year-old began a live stream at 14:00 BST on Tuesday but it soon became "hectic" after drawing large crowds.

At one point, after going into the Bell Wetherspoon pub in Orford Hill to fix issues with his equipment, he said police helped him escape the crowds.

He said: "I went in to try and sort my equipment out and they were waiting outside.

"Police came in and said there's a lot of people waiting for you and that it might not be safe for you to go out there.

"So they found a way for me to get out."

When he left the pub, a large crowd was still waiting for him and he later stopped the stream.

A Norfolk Police spokeswoman said: "We received a number of calls into to our control room reporting that a large group of young people had gathered in the Orford Hill area and Castle Meadow areas of Norwich.

"Officers attended and spoke to some of those in the group but no criminal offences were identified".

While there was no criminal activity, a child was filmed jumping on to the back of a moving bus on Prince of Wales Road in front of J2Hundred, before jumping off after a couple of seconds.

A spokesperson from First Bus said: "We strongly discourage people engaging in this behaviour around our vehicles as it is extremely dangerous and puts people at risk of serious injury."

J2Hundred said he travelled to his home near London following Tuesday's events but plans to visit Scotland soon.

He said next time he live streams, he is considering getting a bigger team together with security guards to make sure everyone is safe.

"It's more for other people's safety as well," he added.
