Tiktoker 'super excited' to co-host BBC nature show
BBC ImagesThe UK's most followed TikTok creator says he is "super excited" to be co-hosting the BBC's latest nature programme.
Naturewatch, hosted by wildlife presenters Chris Packham, Megan McCubbin and influencer Kyle Thomas, starts on Friday on BBC Two and will run all year round.
The show, which is being produced by BBC Studios' Natural History Unit, is filmed in a secret location just south of Bristol city centre, and will celebrate the best of British nature.
Thomas, who has amassed more than 33 million followers on TikTok for his videos about animals, said Naturewatch would act as a "trusted source of really brilliant factual information" as AI becomes increasingly common on social media.
He hopes his presence on the programme will attract a younger audience.
"We're going on this learning journey together," he said, adding: "I'm super, super excited. I'm learning so much already."
He explained the show would make nature accessible to everyone, with people encouraged to send videos in for the presenters to react to.
McCubbin said the trio had "already been distracted" by the diverse wildlife surrounding their tiny studio in the heart of the West's countryside.
"It's really great to be in this part of the country, there's lots of brilliant wildlife here and lots of stories for us to be talking about," she added.
The programme will showcase the wildlife "people can expect to see and encounter whilst they're outside", said Packham.
It will also feature Q&A episodes, where viewers can send in seasonal questions, photos and videos to Naturewatch for expert analysis.
The first episode airs on BBC Two at 19:30 GMT. It will also be available on BBC Sounds and the BBC iPlayer.
