Police investigation launched after cash robbery

A police investigation has been launched after a large quantity of cash was stolen from a person in the street.

Surrey Police said on 22 April, three men approached the victim on Lower Road in Effingham at approximately 17:40 BST.

The force said officers believe the victim was followed by the three men in a white van, after leaving a bank in the area.

Police are now attempting to trace the three suspects.

The driver of the van is described as a white man in his 50s, of average build, who was bald or had very short hair and was clean-shaven, wearing a grey hoodie.

A second man, believed to have been in the front passenger seat, is described as being in his 30s, approximately 5ft. 7 inches tall, with a slim, muscular build. He was wearing black clothing and a black balaclava.

A third man, who was also a passenger, is described as white and was wearing black clothing and a face covering.

Police asked any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact them.
