A man has been arrested after five teenagers were injured in a crash.

Surrey Police said officers were called to reports of a crash involving a white Fiat Punto in Church Lane, Headley, near Leatherhead, shortly before 03:30 BST.

Four 18-year-old passengers - two men and two women - were taken to hospital with serious injuries, said the force.

The male driver, 18, was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink or drugs, driving while over the limit and causing serious injury by dangerous driving, it said. He was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police have appealed for witnesses and anyone travelling in the area before the crash or with relevant footage to get in touch.
