A boy suffered a serious leg injury in a crash between a Kent Police car and an e-bike, the force says.

The secondary school-age boy remains in hospital in a stable condition after the collision at about 03:20 GMT on Monday in Lodge Oak Lane, Tonbridge, police said.

Another man, who was also on the e-bike, received first aid after being injured in the crash.

Kent Police said it had referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct, with the IOPC saying it would make a decision on investigating in due course.

The force's serious collision investigation unit is also looking into the crash, and is appealing for witnesses.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to contact police.
