Man arrested after police station doors smashed

A police station has been closed and a man arrested after its glass front entrance was smashed in the early hours of the morning.

Suffolk Police said a 36-year-old was taken into custody on suspicion of criminal damage at about 02:05 BST after the attack at its station on Princes Street in Ipswich.

He was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

The force said the station would remain closed until the doors were repaired.
