An elderly woman has suffered serious injuries in a dog attack.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the 81-year-old was bitten on her leg at about 15:20 BST on 24 April by a labrador, which was light beige or golden in colour while walking her own dog near Hayle Recreation Ground, in Cornwall.

Despite the attack happening three months ago, the woman still requires treatment for her injuries, police confirmed.

The dog was on a lead at the time of the incident and its owner was a woman believed to be aged in her late 30s or early 40s, of slim build with short hair. Anyone with information has been asked to contact the force.
