Arrests after four-vehicle crash on A143
BBCTwo arrests have been made following a four-vehicle crash in which a driver suffered potentially life-changing injuries on the A143.
Suffolk Police said the collision involved a black BMW M140i, a grey BMW 635 coupe, a green Claas forage harvester and a blue New Holland tractor between Ixworth and Stanton just before 08:00 BST on Saturday.
The driver of the coupe - a man in his 50s - had to be freed by firefighters and was taken to hospital, the force said.
A 48-year-old man driving the other BMW was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop after an accident. The tractor driver, a 24-year-old man, was held on suspicion of drug-driving.
Both have been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
The road was closed for a number of hours while recovery and clean-up work was carried out.
Police appealed for witnesses, including anyone in the area around the time of the collision with a dashcam.
