Major city route shut in both directions by crash

Nottingham's outer ring road has been closed in both directions after a crash.

At about 19:00 BST on Thursday, Nottinghamshire Police said officers had been called to a collision on Western Boulevard in Basford.

The road was initially closed between Nuthall Road and Vernon Road before emergency services closed the road in both directions.

A force spokesperson said: "Please avoid the area if possible while emergency services deal with this incident."
