Arrest after man reported carrying weapon

No one was injured, according to police

An arrest had been made after a man was reported to be carrying a weapon.

Kent Police said it was called at about 17:50 BST on Sunday to Herne Bay High Street following a report that someone had been approached by a man with a weapon.

A force spokesperson said armed officers attended the scene.

A local man, aged 30, was arrested "within minutes" and remains in custody, police said.

Officers located and seized an imitation firearm, the force added.

No injuries were reported.
