A woman from Helston has run five marathons in five days to raise money for a charity which works with young women to improve their mental health.

Tegan Pryce started her 130-mile (209km) challenge by running the London Marathon on Sunday and she achieved a personal best by completing it in three hours and 27 minutes.

The physical trainer went on to run a marathon every day up until and including Thursday, including one from Exeter to Exmouth and another from Marazion to Mousehole.

Pryce said she was fundraising for Cornwall-based Georgia's Voice because it did "great work in preventing suicide in young women aged between 18 and 25".

She said: "London was good, the crowds were amazing and it was so hot, I don't think I was quite prepared for the heat but the vibe was so good."

"The second one was OK, actually, I had very, very sore legs after London but the weather was nice."

By Tuesday she said the strain started to show.

"Tuesday was really tough, my body started to really hurt," she said.

When she finished the fifth consecutive marathon, Pryce said she would "probably be lying down until Monday".
