A BBC radio presenter has been announced as the host of this year's Wolverhampton Pride.

Radio 1Xtra's Kaylee Golding will compere the city's free-to-attend event at West Park on 6 June.

The Birmingham-based DJ is also known for being the founder of Hot Girl Brunch - an event to empower women and non-binary people which features an all-female DJ lineup.

Golding will host the city's Pride celebrations as Pink tribute act Vicky Jackson and drag artist RiiRii Le Pour take to the stage, among others.

"Having Kaylee as our confirmed host for Pride is fantastic news and we are proud to welcome her to our great city," said City of Wolverhampton Council leader Stephen Simkins.

"The event is a superb way for everyone to come together and be themselves and this year's Pride is made even more special by the event being free."

The June event was moved from Market Square due to development work.

Simkins added: "Kaylee joins a host of brilliant artists ready to entertain and bring a great energy to West Park.

"Pride is also a wonderful family event where families can enjoy a range of activities and entertainment, so don't miss out and make sure you come along and enjoy the day."
