Murder accused detained under Mental Health Act
Laura Foster/BBCA man who was arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead inside a home has been detained under the Mental Health Act.
Thames Valley Police was called to a property on East Moor Drive in Wolverton Mill, Milton Keynes, at about 18:00 BST on Sunday.
Officers found the body of a woman in her 50s at the address before launching a murder investigation and arresting a 58-year-old man from Milton Keynes.
The force's Major Crime Unit has said it is not currently looking for anybody else in connection with the incident, which it described as "tragic".
Senior investigating officer, Det Ch Insp Will Crowther, said the man had since been detained under Section 2 of the Mental Health Act.
It allows for a person to be held in a hospital while their mental health is assessed.

"We would like to reassure residents that we are carrying out a thorough investigation. We have a dedicated team of officers working on this investigation."
He said officers were carrying out inquiries at the scene and that there would continue to be an increased police presence in the area.
Formal identification of the woman has not yet taken place but the victim's next of kin are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers.
"Our thoughts remain with them at this extremely difficult time. The family have asked for their privacy to be respected," added Crowther.
