Trackside fire blocks railway line
GoogleA fire next to a railway track in the West Midlands blocked the line between Birmingham International and Coventry.
The fire, in the Canley area, caused major disruption until at least 19:30 BST on Monday, when lines were reopened, National Rail said, although the disruption would continue.
Passengers travelling between Coventry and Birmingham International faced services that were cancelled, revised or delayed by up to 30 minutes.
West Midlands Fire Service was contacted for comment.
Avanti West Coast services between Edinburgh and Glasgow Central and London Euston, plus CrossCountry services between Manchester Piccadilly and Bournemouth were affected.
London Northwestern routes between Birmingham New Street and Milton Keynes Central and London Euston were also disrupted.
