Man charged over stabbing to appear in court

A man has been charged in connection with a suspected stabbing in Ilkeston which left another man in a critical condition.

The victim was found with serious injuries in Cotmanhay Road around 12:00 BST on Friday and taken to hospital.

Derbyshire Police said Luke Hurdowar, 29, of no fixed address, has been charged with section 18 wounding and possession of an offensive weapon. He has been remanded in custody to appear before Southern Derbyshire Magistrates on Monday.

A 26-year old woman, who was also arrested, has been bailed, pending further enquiries.
