More than 60 firefighters are tackling a large heathland fire on the Hampshire-Surrey border.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said the fire at Blackwater near Camberley was reported shortly after 13:30 BST.

Crews are using hose reels and specialist wildfire units to bring the fire - estimated to cover about six hectares of heathland - under control.

Road closures are in place and people have been urged to avoid the area.

Fire services across the south of England have warned that a few days of hot weather have "greatly increased" the risk of wildfires as the country experiences its third heatwave of 2026.
