Police have seized a cannabis grow of more than 100 plants from a property in Warsop.

Nottinghamshire Police said officers forced entry to an address in Fell Wilson Street on Friday, after suspicions were raised in relation to a cannabis grow.

The force added that the crop contained 117 adult plants and more than 100 young seedlings.

The electricity within the property had been bypassed, which has since been made safe by National Grid workers.

In a post on social media, Mansfield District Police said: "Residential grows such as this one pose a severe hazard to nearby residents, the bypassed and poor electrical work poses a serious fire hazard.

"Additionally, the associated criminality cannabis grows bring, such as raids by rivals, put nearby residents at risk of harm."
