A pedestrian has been killed after being hit by a car during a police pursuit in Leeds.

The 36-year-old woman was struck by a Vauxhall Corsa on Beckett Street at about 09:52 GMT just minutes after it failed to stop for officers on Harehills Road.

The car was later found abandoned on Nippet Lane with the occupants having fled the scene, West Yorkshire Police said.
