A dad of three has been described as the "bravest" and "kindest" man after he was killed in a crash while using his mobility scooter.

Lyndon "Brent" New died aged 73 on Friday, two days after his mobility scooter collided with a van on Holme Lacy Road in Hereford.

In a joint tribute released by his sons Simon and Kevin and daughter Lynda, they said: "He was the bravest, kindest man we knew. Soft, gentle, and caring, he faced life's challenges with quiet strength and never complained.

"His love, warmth, and selflessness touched everyone who knew him. We are so proud to have called him our dad and will miss him every day. Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever in our hearts."

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said the crash was "still under investigation".

The force said it would like to hear from witnesses, or anyone who may have dashcam or CCTV footage from the moments leading up to the incident.
