Firefighters tackle blaze on industrial estate

A road has reopened after fire crews tackled a blaze on an industrial estate in Northampton.

In a post at 19:50 BST on Saturday, Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was dealing with a fire in a property on the Lodge Farm Industrial Estate in Duston, about two miles (3km) north-west of the town centre.

Crews remained at the site on Sunday to monitor the situation, the fire service said.

During the incident, the A428 Harlestone Road was closed between The Hart pub and the Lidl crossroads. but the fire service said it had since reopened.

It had advised people nearby to close doors and windows due to the smoke from the fire.
