Glasgow Subway shut during rush hour due to technical issue
BBCGlasgow's Subway service has been completely suspended due to a technical issue.
Services on both the Inner and Outer lines were halted at about 08:30, with passengers told to leave stations and find alternative transport.
Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) stated on social media: "Both Inner and Outer Circles are currently suspended due to a technical issue in the control room. "We are working to resolve the issue and will update when services resume."
The transport body apologised for any inconvenience to passengers caused by the closure.
SPT recently transferred the operations of its signalling and comms system to a new control room, described by the transport operator as state of the art.
The new system has brought in fully-automated passenger announcements and extra information available on passenger screens on the trains.
On Wednesday, a train fault forced the Outer Circle to close for a spell.
