Spud Bros to open 30 petrol station shops
BBCViral jacket potato sellers Spud Bros have announced they are to open 30 new shops on petrol station forecourts across the country.
Jacob and Harley Nelson became a TikTok sensation after starting their business in 2020 from an old tram carriage in Preston, gaining millions of followers worldwide.
The brothers said they would now expand SpudBros Express in more petrol stations after pilot schemes in Blackburn and Wakefield.
Jacob, 31, and his 23-year-old brother Harley have more than seven million followers worldwide across all their social media sites.
Half of the shops are expected to open this year with a partnership with European food-tech company Taster and Blackburn's petrol station operator EG On The Move.
The first will open in a few weeks. Taking to social media, Harley said: "This is huge."
His co-founder brother Jacob said: "It is actually happening - we are absolutely buzzing.
"We opened up two shops in Blackburn and Wakefield - they have done absolutely fantastic.
"So we are opening up another 30 SpudBros Express across the UK.
"We are bringing the potatoes to you."
