A man was arrested on suspicion of arson after a fire left a baby needing treatment for suspected smoke inhalation.

The fire was at a house on Deans Road in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, at about 22:14 BST on Tuesday.

A baby boy was treated and taken to New Cross Hospital while a man was also treated for suspected smoke inhalation. He did not wish to go to hospital and was discharged at the scene, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

A 55-year-old man remained in police custody and police were working with West Midlands Fire Service to establish the cause, a spokesman said.
