Woman hit by e-bike 'will be missed forever'

Relatives has paid tribute to a "kind-hearted" woman struck and killed by an e-bike while crossing a road.

Joanne Doyle was stepping on to the pavement from a zebra crossing on Mount Vernon Street in Liverpool when she was hit by an electric-assisted bicycle at about 15:35 BST on 7 July, Merseyside Police said.

Her family said the 57-year-old was "a kind-hearted, generous soul who always put others before herself".

A man was later charged with manslaughter and wounding in connection with her death.

Police said Joanne had stepped on to the pavement near the Linda McCartney Centre when she was struck.

She was taken to hospital in a serious condition and died on 18 July.

The family tribute continued: "Our Joanne was such a loving, kind and amazing mum, partner, sister, auntie and friend."

"She was tragically and suddenly taken from us far too soon and will be missed forever."

Det Sgt Kurt Timpson said: "My thoughts remain with Joanne's family, who continue to be supported by specially trained family liaison officers.

"Her death has caused her loved ones the worst pain imaginable and we are determined to get the answers they deserve."
