Port Vale seal loan deals for Figueroa and Asamoah

Port Vale have secured the season-long loan signings of Liverpool forward Keyrol Figueroa and Maleace Asamoah from Wigan Athletic.

Deadline day arrivals Figueroa, 20, and Asamoah, 23, become the League Two Valiants' 12th and 13th signings of what has proven to be a busy summer.

Figueroa has been in Liverpool's academy since he joined from FC Dallas in 2018.

The attacker represented the USA at various youth levels, but he has since switched allegiances to the country of his birth, Honduras, and earned his first full senior cap in a friendly against Argentina in June.

Vale boss Brady said: "Keyrol comes from an outstanding football environment at Liverpool and has a really exciting attacking profile.

"He's quick, direct and dynamic, with a real desire to threaten defenders and play on the front foot.

"He has the strength and technical ability to receive the ball under pressure and link play, while also having the pace and athleticism to run in behind, attack space and cause problems with his movement."

Winger Asamoah, who was involved in the academies of Reading and Tottenham Hotspur as a youngster, spent time in Greece with second-tier side Kalamata before he returned to England and had a spell with Fleetwood Town.

Asamoah moved to Wigan in 2024 and has made 47 appearances for the club, including 36 in League One, but he was loaned out to League Of Ireland outfit Shamrock Rovers in February of this year.

Now he has been granted an opportunity to impress in England's fourth tier with Vale, who have taken only two points from their opening three league matches.

Brady said: "Maleace is a quick and powerful player who is suited to the left wing but can also play through the middle.

"He's played quite a few games at League One level and we're all pleased to welcome him to the group."
