Two teenagers died from "blunt trauma" after a motorbike crashed with a vehicle which then "made off from the scene", a coroner has been told.

Their deaths are at the centre of a murder investigation, Gwent Coroner's Court heard.

Terell Case,18, of Sandpiper Way, Duffryn, and Joshua Williams, 34, of no fixed abode, are both charged with two counts of murder and are due back in court next month.

On Monday, the coroner's court heard that paramedics and police were called to Aberthaw Road but both teenagers were declared dead at the scene. Their bodies were identified by their fathers.

Area coroner for Gwent Rose Farmer said a post-mortem examination was carried out the following day with an initial cause of death given as "blunt trauma".

She adjourned the inquest due to the ongoing police investigation and said a full inquest would take place for both teenagers on 25 February 2027.
